Sea Acres Rainforest Reserve is situated on 76 hectares and is 6 kilometres from Port Macquarie.
The reserve is a rare example of a natural environment surviving in harmony with the pressures of modern day life. The reserve contains three types of rainforest, including one of the few remaining pockets of littoral (coastal) rainforest in Australia.
The reserve also contains a host of endangered species of flora and fauna including many rare birds. In addition the reserve serves as an important corridor for Port Macquarie's koala colony.
Nestled in the reserve is a modern educational and tourist facility, which offers visitors:
* 1.3 kilometre boardwalk through the forest (6 metres off the ground at its highest point) - the longest continuous boardwalk in the world;
* hands on, high-tech rainforest ecology display;
* video theatre and a unique range of souvenirs
* regular daily walks with specially trained guides
Bungalow Cafe has local, fresh, homestyle menu at a reasonable price.
