We are a public outreach, astronomy educational visitors' centre at Mt Stromlo Observatory, 20 minutes from the centre of Canberra, Australia. The visitors' centre is run by the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University, and we offer both school programs and public activities, 364 days of the year. Our facilities include hands-on exhibits and tours, as well as the Star Wares gift shop and the Red Belly Black cafe (but these are temporarily closed as a result of the 18 January 2003 bushfire).

St John's Schoolhouse Museum, Canberra's first and only schoolhouse from the 1840s until 1880.

The museum has been restored and consists of the schoolroom and five other rooms which were used as the home for the schoolmaster, Mr. James Abernathy, and his family. The display contains photographs and memorabilia of the school, church and Canberra's early years.
