This architecturally designed building provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the people and history of Mackay through the Spirit and Place: Mementoes of Mackay exhibition. The stories of Mackay's people, industries and culture are told through a unique multimedia and museum display which includes objects ranging from John Mackay's walking stick to Cathy Freeman's school trophies.
Celebrate the arts through an ever changing array of exhibitions drawn from local, interstate and international collections which showcase the talents of Australian artists. Discover the rare artists book collection on display in the Tate Adams Reading Room where you can discover this unusual artform (by appointment) or in regular displays and exhibitions.
