A must see for those on the heritage trail in Maryborough is a delightful historic homestead, built in 1859 of hand-made clay bricks for pioneer John Eaton, Maryborough's second Mayor, and the largest landholder in the district.
The home features rich cedar fittings and delicately etched and coloured glass which were imported from Italy. Also, a unique feature is the attractive round brick columns at the front of the house. It has been lovingly restored as a family home, and is furnished with antiques, including a century-old pianola and gramophone which are played for visitors.
